Sue’s News

Hi friends,

I just looked at my calendar, and realise that it’s now less than 3 months until Christmas and the summer holiday season! What!!

That’s got me thinking! I’ve got some gift ideas for you. In these days of consumerism, it’s often difficult to find gifts that are both unique and affordable. And yes you guessed it, that’s where I can help. My “Sue Baker” list below!

Gift ideas

Gift Voucher - start at $100, and can be used toward the price of a piece of my art/music. Or towards a 1:1 demo/lesson in encaustic art (2 hours).

Paintings - there’s quite a range in my shop at the moment, from small 25X25cm up to 150X50cm. One of a kind pieces of encaustic art.

Commission - Arrange to have me create a piece of art especially for someone you love. But you’ll have to get in quick for Christmas.

October Sale

To make those choices even easier, I’m offering a discount for the month of October (4th - 31st).
10% off all purchases of existing products, over $100.

And if you tag me in a post about your purchase on Instagram or Facebook, I’ll process a refund you $20 after your purchase.

Other arty news….

NEW INSTAGRAM GROUP - OZNZENCAUSTIC

Recently, I’ve helped to initiate an Australian/New Zealand group on Instagram for Encaustic Artists. @oznzencaustic
The concept is to form a supportive framework for encaustic artists on both sides of “The Ditch”, to inspire, mentor and promote encaustic art.

I hope you can follow us there!
In the near future, some of the featured artists will be doing 1-week takeovers of the account, to demonstrate and challenge artists and followers.

UPCOMING EXHIBITION

I’ve been selected by panel, to exhibit at the Pepper Street Gallery’s “It’s only Natural” exhibition during 2022’s Fringe Festival.
More details to follow as the time gets closer, but I’m pretty chuffed to be involved.

Music news

LOVERS’ MOON

After a few minor hiccups, my second album is close to getting printed by MAD CDs in Melbourne.
For those who’ve ordered their pre-release copy, a big thank you! It helps to cover the rather large costs in creating a studio album.

If you’d like to order a CD copy of the upcoming album, please go to the SHOP to place your order. Thankyou!

It’s big, it’s full and bursting with love, great musicianship by some renowned session players. Can’t wait to share it with you all.

SONG COMPETITIONS

Recently, I entered a new song “Threads of Time” into SCALA’s Festival of Original Music. I performed it in Heat 2 of the competition on September 16th, accompanied by Ron Vanderzwan on snare & brushes.
I won the judges vote to go through to the Final on October 14th. There’s going to be some stiff competition, but I’ll give it my best shot.

A sweet little song dedicated to my grandkids, who I love with a passion!

That’s it for now friends. Stay safe, be happy.
