  • Winner of SCALA’s “3 Lyricists Go Into a Bar”, 2023 Competition, writing & performing music to Phil Parker’s lyrics “To Keep you Near”. A copy of my home-recording here.

  • A Finalist in SA Music 2022 Awards for People’s Choice, Blues & Roots category, for my “Lovers Moon” album

  • Shortlisted in 2021 Australian Songwriting Association competition in the “Australia” category for my song “All Together”

Band Bio:

The Sourdoughs hail from Adelaide, their sound gently worked into satisfyingly chewy grooves. Sue Baker, a veteran South Australian songwriter, has released two solo studio albums. She fronts the group on vocals and her trusty Maton acoustic. The band features Ron Vanderzwan on digital drums, Nigel Sweeting on double-bass, Ashley Turner on fiddle, Stephen Loss on guitar and mandolin, and Adam Threapleton on harmonica. They serve up folky, acoustic-rooted originals and beloved covers, spiced with touches of blues, jazz and balladry. Fresh from the oven or toasted, The Sourdoughs are a delicious listening experience.
