Anyone with an appreciation of the high quality of Australian song-writing and musicianship will find much to explore and enjoy in Lovers’ Moon.
Adrian Miller, Songwriter and reviewer for The Clothesline

“Sue Baker is an accomplished lyricist. Her words are vivid and sensuous; they draw you into the narrative; they have the power to startle. Thirteen tracks of absolute sincerity.”
Adrienne Lovelock, Singer-songwriter

“Lover’s Moon is like having a lovely book of tales read to you in a melodic and stirring manner, what a treat!”
Paula Standing, Singer-songwriter

  • About the Album

Eleven years since Sue’s first album “Bit of Earth”, “Lovers’ Moon” is a collection of 13 tracks of heartfelt narrative. The usual suspects of love, loss, missing loved ones, this country and our universe. Everything!

Recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Jamie Blechynden of Stella One Studio, Tanunda SA. It’s full studio treatment sets each track alight, helping each to soar.

Wonderful Adelaide and Barossa session musicians lend their generous talent, bringing sweet interpretations of my songs.

  • The Tracks

    1. A little bit me, a little bit you - a sweet story of love across the generations.

    2. Far too long - when love leaves you hanging on, long after it’s over.

    3. Lovers’ Moon - the album’s title track, capturing the sense of awe we can rediscover when we get away from the everyday.

    4. All together - an Australian ballad depicting the hardships of life in rural communities during the recent droughts.

    5. Hello Friend - of bumping into friends we haven’t seen in a long, long time.

    6. Wish I had some blue suede shoes - a heartache song captured through the metaphor of the colour blue.

    7. Time to act* - a protest song about my angst about the unleashing impacts of climate change, and government inaction. *language warning

    8. How Long - a rock treatment of that universal theme of missing love.

    9. Turn me around - a sweet waltz celebrating the depth of a life-long love.

    10. She is my eyes - my view of life, as part of a big, wide universe (she).

    11. Pouring out the words - listen and you’ll hear about my approach to the song-writing process.

    12. Fly Home - about the irony of being on the opposite side of the globe to your love.

    13. You have been my shelter - a dedication to one you love, when times have been tough.
