“eARTh in Wax” exhibition & SA Music Awards

A couple of happy bits of news on both Art and Music fronts!!
Exhibition at Mixed Creative, Port Adelaide
I was chuffed to be invited to exhibit a solo show titled “eARTh in Wax” , showing some larger pieces oozing with the strength of our Australian landscapes.
When: Starts today Friday Nov. 18th through til Sunday Dec. 18th. Tonight’s Opening is at 7pm, followed by some cool jazz by Will Burton Trio. Follow along via my Instagram account @suebakerartist
At: Mixed Creative Art & Bar, 32 Nile St, Port Adelaide
They’re open each Friday night from 7pm (get yourself a burger from Captain Rebab while you’re there)
Saturdays and Sundays 12noon til 4pm.
SA Music Awards
I was nominated in this year’s Peoples Choice for Blues and Roots in Music SA’s, 2022 SA Music Awards. And I reached the Finals. I attended the gala event last night, and while I missed out on the award (Cal Williams Jnr won), I was chuffed to be involved. Thank you to friends, family and fans who gave me a vote for my “Lovers’ Moon” album.
Elsy Wameyo took 5 awards home for her amazing “Nilotic” album. Such a creative!
A night of high energy and enthusiasm, from a crowd 40-50 years my junior! :)
But hey, it’s never too late to pursue creative outlets.
