As this one emerged, I was reminiscing on childhood family holidays on the NSW Central coast. As kids, we would spend virtually all day jumping waves, and inevitably getting “dumped”, learning to navigate the waves. When I felt brave, I would open my eyes underwater. Mum would be back at the family tent, getting her 4 weeks of reprieve from suburban life back in the 60s.
