SUE BAKER, b. 1955

I am an Adelaide-based landscape artist, creating abstract work of Australian country & coast. I am especially drawn to the extremes common in outback landscapes, for their rich texture and rhythms; anchoring us to country.

I create work in encaustic medium (beeswax + damar + pigments), capitalising on its unique characteristics to create layered textures, subtle patterning and shifting forms.
