As an artist based in Adelaide (on unceded Kaurna land), South Australia, I find ongoing inspiration in the rich natural beauty and quiet rhythms that surround me. I work with the encaustic medium (made from beeswax combined with damar resin).
I aim to capture, evoke and suggest the essential qualities of the natural world in my art. The unpredictable and transformative qualities of encaustic painting resonate deeply with the ever-changing elements of nature, allowing me to investigate layered textures, subtle colours, and shifting forms in ways that reflect the organic flow, seasonal rhythms, and atmospheric moods of the environment.
My work has multiple layers of wax medium, creating depth, luminosity and subtle complexity in each piece. This thoughtful, tactile layering process mirrors the strata and histories embedded in nature itself. Like timelines and sediments laid across the landscapes that stretch before us, each layer quietly holds memory, movement and traces of time.
